Web Graphics Training Course

Our Web Graphics Training Course offers a series of quick fire tutorials on how to create great looking graphics and images for your website with the minimum of fuss and expense!

Rather than focusing purely on teaching a graphics program like Adobe Photoshop, our web graphics course has been specifically devised to help website designers achieve great looking results quickly and effortlessly, and without the need to learn a full graphics package. Saying that, whilst Photoshop is indeed used during the course, we also show how to achieve the same results with Paint Shop Pro and Pixlr.com, the online web image editing application, so there's no excuse not to be getting great looking images onto your website quickly and easily from day one.

We begin the course by fully explaining image resolutions and formats, and how best to prepare images for use on your website. Cropping, sharpening and other enhancements are also discussed, demonstrated and practised. We also discuss the types of imagery that have been shown to work well on websites, psychologically speaking, and how images and colours that provoke a response can be used to your advantage to increase customer engagement and, ultimately, sales.

We also take a look at several plugins available for WordPress that can optimise your images whilst they are being uploaded, plus we also discuss how best to SEO optimise your images, so that they are indexed by Google's image search feature.

Finally, we take a look at using fonts, both those installed on the users machine, and those available in the cloud, including how to embed Google fonts and other third-party fonts into your website. We also take a look at alternative formats such as SVG and WebP.
