Our 21st Century Web Design Training Course Workshop combines our five other courses into a single, all encompassing course, designed to teach you everything you need to know about researching, planning, building and marketing a business website with it's own e-commerce functionality.
From researching and planning your online business, through designing, building and optimising your website, to marketing your website - all of the standard practices are taught during this course, along with countless shortcuts, tips and techniques discovered via hundreds of hours of experience from our trainer, who has garnered over three decades of hard-won experience building websites of all shapes and sizes. At every step of the way, you will be expertly guided in the building of your website, examining many of the fundamental requirements of your business: from the best way to make your business stand out amongst it's competitors, to the various methods by which you can achieve excellent organic Google listings.
Rather than teach you all of our five courses consecutively, our web design course modules have been rearranged to give you the best logical and practical flow for your learning experience, as follows:
Our web design course kicks off with four modules from our Digital Marketing course, which examine the online potential of your business using your competitors as a yardstick. During these modules, we discuss and refine your online business, drawing ideas and inspiration through the examination of the various techniques your competitors are already utilising on their websites, YouTube and social media channels. At the conclusion of this process we build a design schema: a map of the types of information your website will need to display, and a breakdown of the functionality that your business website will require.
Breaking off into our SEO course, we then take a closer look at the key phrases your competitors are using in their web page titles, page content, blog posts and images, and through our discussion and brainstorming we will compile a spreadsheet of the most applicable key phrases you should be using on your forthcoming business website. Finally, we build a sitemap of the pages your website will contain, together with the correct key phrases we will use to ensure that every page of your website (and the hierarchy we develop) will be fully optimised before the process of building your website begins. Our final WordPress SEO module focuses on exactly where and how to put your key phrases into your page titles, page content, meta descriptions, image tags and slugs/urls.
Our WordPress course takes you through the process of building your WordPress website from start to finish: from examining the pro's and con's of the software, we move on to the various ways to install it (including how to choose the best hosting) followed by a detailed tour of it's layout and functionality. Then we get into the nitty-gritty, creating posts, pages and menu's to display your information, and we examine the benefits and pitfalls of free and premium themes and templates, before moving on to learn one of the most powerful design tools that currently exists for WordPress: Oxygen Builder.
Our Web Graphics course takes a timely diversion from WordPress to look at the best options for preparing photographs and images for use on your website, including how to decide on the best resolutions and sizes for your images, and a close look at the various software programs available: from Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, to online image manipulation tools. We also take a look at icons, fonts and the SVG format.
Our WooCommerce course takes you directly into the heart of setting up and running an online business selling physical and/or digital products. From installing and configuring the WooCommerce plugin, setting up your store with products (manually and by importing from spreadsheets), to learning how to set up product variations, shipping zones and classes. We also take a look some free and paid for plugins that can extend the functionality of WooCommerce.
Returning to our Digital Marketing course, we take a look at email integration, and how best to integrate a subscriber system into your website. This is followed by the setting up of a blog posting system, and an examination of how best to use backlinks to drive the popularity and ranking of your website higher in Google's search listings. Finally we take a detailed look at how to 'wire' your website into Google's search console and analytics, so that you can use Google's tracking and monitoring systems as tools for discovery of your customer audience.
With all of our new found knowledge, we return to the business of completing the build of your WordPress website, finishing off our design with the use of widgets. slideshows, galleries and embeds to heighten your users experience of your products and services. We then discuss the activation of your website, and some initial promotions to celebrate it's launch!
Although by this stage our website is completed and launched, there is still lots to do in the area of digital marketing, to which we return here to discuss how the various popular social media channels can be best utilised in promoting your business. We examine each platform in turn, looking at it's pros and cons, and again examine how your competitors are using these platforms (or not) to promote their businesses. These modules offer a 'deep dive' into their respective platforms, and include both examinations of how best to use them for free promotion, as well as paid for advertising. Each of these modules are taught by trainers who specialise in that particular platform, giving you lots of ideas and helping you develop a strategy that will ensure that your business reaches the widest audience possible.
All in all, our web design training course offers the most comprehensive and detailed training of it's kind, with hands-on personalised one-to-one training that expertly guides you on how to plan, design, develop and launch your own robust online business website.
