Comedy Scriptwriting

Ever wished you’d written ‘The Office’, ‘Friends’ or ‘Love Actually’?

Well if you have ever wanted to write a TV sitcom or a comedy film then our comedy screenwriting course will show you the way.

This course provides everything the comedy writer needs to get started including an analysis of the contemporary comedy market, and the tools required to write sketches, create a sitcom, write a ‘dramady’ (comedy-drama), or a big screen film comedy.

We’ll look at where humour comes from, how to write and hone gags, where to find material, how to create compelling comedic characters, how to create comedy storylines, and how to write comic dialogue. Led by a professional film and TV writer you will gain a valuable insight into the world of film and television comedy writing from someone with real work experience.

Whether you’ve already written for other media and want to find your voice in the world of Film and TV or are bursting to get your ideas onto paper for the first time, this course provides you with the solid foundations you need to get your work into the marketplace. Using a combination of examples, script analysis, clip screenings and writing exercises, you’ll be armed with the tools you need to give your work the chance it deserves.

A very helpful and interesting insight. A very strong overview of everything I needed to know. A lot of information, but all well delivered and one a personal basis. Thanks very much.
