Which course should I do?
The majority of our courses are custom taught and 'complete' i.e. that they provide you with a detailed overview of your preferred software or subject. Our classes are sufficiently small (with a maximum of 6 delegates) ensuring that you have the maximum amount of the trainers time and attention to discuss your own particular requirements. We offer each subject in this way (free of beginner, intermediate or advanced levels) making the choice of the right course a simpler decision. However, in the case of our
3 day Dreamweaver & CSS course, we recommend that if you have NOT previously learned HTML you should attend the
1 day Introduction to HTML course prior to booking the
3 day Dreamweaver course.
What time do your courses start?
Our courses begin at 10.00 and finish usually around 4.30. However, we ask that you arrive at no later than 9.45. For security reasons we cannot provide full details of the check-in process on this website. You are however provided with these full details upon booking your preferred course.
Where are your courses held?
All of our courses are held at the famous Elstree Film Studios, home to many well known TV productions such as 'Big Brother' and 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'. Our training facility is located on the Studio lot itself, near to the cafe. Elstree Film Studios is located in Shenley Road, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire and can be reached easily from the nearest tube, which is Elstree and Borehamwood Thameslink.
Are your courses accredited?
We have been designing and developing websites ourselves for more than 12 years now and we have consequently learnt many important lessons - most of which are not readily available in any textbook or design manual. We prefer to teach these hard won techniques and tricks of the trade rather than follow a textbook approach and for this reason our courses are not officially accredited. We do however issue a certificate at the end of each course.
What are your payment methods?
All bookings and payments can be made online via our booking form, which offers the choice of either (a) an immediate online credit card payment (made securely via the Worldpay payment gateway) or (b) a Purchase Order, which allows for you or your company to pay via the BACs payment method or cheque. In either case you will immediately receive confirmation of your booking along with attendance details and a PDF invoice or Purchase Order depending on the method chosen. Please bear in mind however that only a Worldpay credit card payment guarantees your placement on a course. Bookings made by Purchase Order are not guaranteed until a full payment has been made.
What kind of local accommodation is on offer?
We have researched into the various Hotels, Guest Houses and Bed and Breakfast facilities that are available near to Elstree Film Studios, the details of which you will find on our
Hotels in Elstree & Borehamwood page. We trust you will find this list useful although please note that this list does not constitute an endorsement of any of the facilities mentioned.
When is the [xxx] course on next?
You will find a complete schedule of our forthcoming course dates on our
training index page. If the course you are looking for is not listed here, the chances are that (a) we do not run this course or (b) we have not yet set a date for it. In the case of the latter, please locate the course page and enter your details in the footer area. You will then automatically be contacted via email when this course is next due to run.
What should I do if I need to reschedule a course?
Please contact us as soon as you are aware that a rescheduling will be required and we will move your booking to the next available date free of charge.
What should I do if I need to cancel a course?
Please
contact us directly by telephone in the event that you wish to cancel a course.
What is the Elstree Film School?
The Elstree Film School is a new offshoot of our main training facility offering a set of unique short courses in filmmaking techniques, TV and Film scriptwriting and digital camera and lighting courses, more of which you can find out about at
