A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE 21ST CENTURY
Originally conceived of as a record label, music promotions and publishing agency in the early 1990's, within a few short years
21st Century Music evolved to become
21st Century Design by adding web design, graphics and SEO marketing to their roster of popular services.
With the explosion of interest for new media products in the mid 1990's,
21st Century Design earned an enviable reputation for producing CD-ROMs, EPKs and new media press kits for some of the top names in the publishing, retail and entertainment industries including
Conde Nast,
Harrods,
Toshiba and
Columbia Tristar and enjoyed seeing their innovative work appear on hundreds of thousands of copies of
GQ magazine,
Shine magazine and
New Woman magazines throughout the world.
In 2000,
21st Century Design incorporated to become
21st Century New Media Ltd and continued their specialisation in producing sophisticated websites and new media products into the 00's. With the launch of
21stcentury.co.uk, their own in-house Science & Technology news portal,
21st Century New Media Ltd achieved national coverage and numerous awards and reviews as a supplier of vital news and entertainment for the technology and entertainment sectors. Further web platforms and crossover new media products were developed including an interactive kiosk system for the lobby of the newly built
New River Village development and a plethora of Enhanced CDs, CD-ROMs and DVDs for a diverse range of clients from
Mushroom Records to the
British Deaf Association.
After a decade of achieving success with their new media products and web productions,
21st Century felt it was time to expand again with the introduction of a training facility aimed at imparting their hard-won experience to the general public. From auspicious beginnings teaching Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Flash,
21st Century Training quickly expanded their options and today offer an exiting selection of training courses in a wide variety of subjects, from web design and marketing, to video production and podcasting, plus a variety of film and TV related subjects.
21st Century's training and web development client list is nothing short of astounding, including the
BBC,
Channel 4,
ITV,
British Petroleum,
British Telecom and
Comic Relief amongst hundreds of other similarly notable businesses, many of whom appear on their testimonials page.
After a decade and a half of creativity and innovation,
